Baros scoops Young Player of the Year award
Liverpool fans have unaminously declared Milan Baros as the club's most outstanding young player this season. The 21-year old Czech striker scooped over 50% of the votes in an online poll we have been running for the past six weeks. He beat off competition from the highly promising keeper Chris Kirkland and prolific reserve marksman Neil Mellor.
It's a sign of the rapid progress the 'Ostravan Maradona' has made at Anfield since his arrival in December 2001. In this, his first full season, Baros has scored 12 goals in 41 appearances for the Reds and become a firm favourite among the fans in the process.
Congratulations Milan!

Gerard Houllier will meet Auxerre boss Guy Roux in the hope of signing striker Djibril Cisse and defender Jean Alain Boumsong.
Fulham pair Steve Finnan and Steed Malbranque have already been identified as potential targets after the Reds' failure to take his side back into the Champions League.
And the Auxerre duo appear to be high on the list as Houllier looks to strengthen his squad.
'We will have a meeting with Auxerre at the end of the month,' said Houllier. 'I will be speaking to Guy Roux.'
Cisse, 21, is a full France international while Boumsong, 23, is a France Under-21 international.
Houllier also has Blackburn's winger Damien Duff on his shopping list but the Irishman is likely to be out of reach if Manchester United maintain their interest and Rovers want £15million to £20million.
The Anfield chief was speaking after having 48 hours to digest the shattering disappointment of Liverpool's defeat at Chelsea, which meant the Blues captured the final Champions League spot.
Now Houllier has made it clear that the time for investing in potential for the future - like he did last summer with Bruno Cheyrou, El Hadji Diouf and Salif Diao - has gone, and that he must inject Premiership experience and European quality into his squad for next season's campaign.
Failure to reach the promised land of the Champions League next season could put his own position in doubt and leave Liverpool hopelessly behind the Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle power base.
Houllier admits: 'We have had an average season, we have underachieved. Now the time has come for us not to buy potential, we need proven talent.
'And we need to add flair and creativity, particularly in the area of link between midfield and strikers. If the club gives me money, I'd be glad to use it in this area.'
Thanks to his club's solid financial position, Houllier can expect to have around £20million to spend, and it is clear that he wants players who understand the requirements of the Premier League as well as top European competition.
Houllier added: 'We have a good group of young England internationals and we must add creativity to that.
'We don't need a lot, four at the most, but a couple certainly who can add that extra creativity and link with the front players.'
And Houllier made it clear that failure to reach the Champions League next term would not be tolerated.
He said: 'Our first aim is to get back into the top three.
'The players have age on their side and they have ambition and determination. We have had an average season, a funny season in some ways.
'We have underachieved. We have created big expectations for ourselves after our previous success and maybe we have suffered because of that.

Houllier - We're still interested in Duff
Gerard Houllier has admitted Liverpool are still interested in signing Blackburn star Damien Duff - if the price is right. The Reds had an offer for the highly rated Irish winger rejected last summer but Houllier says Duff remains a player he would like to bring to Anfield. He told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Everyone knows about our interest in Damien Duff and about the fact that we made an offer for him last year. That offer was rejected and we were told he was not for sale.
"We are looking for someone for that position but I don't see many available at the moment for the right price. Damien still interests us - at the right price!"
Boss confirms Cisse interest
Gerard Houllier has admitted that the name of Djibril Cisse will be high on the agenda when he meets with Auxerre boss Guy Roux later this month. Houllier has confirmed a meeting with the French boss is scheduled in which they will discuss the availability of Cisse along with one or two more Auxerre stars.
Centre backs Jean-Alain Boumsong and Phillipe Mexes have both been linked with Anfield moves this season and with the manager admitting he would like to sign a new defender before the start of the season a move for either youngster wouldn't be surprising. Houllier said: "We have planned a meeting with Guy Roux. There are things we want to raise with him. We'll meet and discuss a couple of players we are interested in.
"I don't know if he will let Cisse go this summer, that is why we are talking to him. I know he said he will resign if they sell Cisse but we will see. We will meet not only for Cisse though, there are things we want to discuss for the summer."

Assalamualaikum ..
Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier has promised his big-name flops will turn into heroes next season.
The Anfield chief has seen last summer's expensive signings El-Hadji Diouf, Salif Diao and Bruno Cheyrou become the focus of continued criticism as they have all struggled to settle into Premiership football.
The trio cost a total of £18million last summer and it was hoped they would push Liverpool into genuine title contenders.
However, all three, to differing levels, have struggled to make their mark in their first season in England.
But they will all be given another chance next season to prove their worth, and Houllier insisted: 'They will all make a much bigger impact next season and really come good.'
Cheyrou, who won his first full France cap last season, has struggled the most, starting only 14 games and admitting he 'had trouble winning my tackles.'
Diao and Diouf made a major impression for Senegal in last summer's World Cup finals, reaching the last eight and knocking out champions France on the way.
Midfielder Diao has started 22 games while Diouf, who had a very difficult start to his English career, started just 12 games before the new year but 22 afterwards when he made the right midfield slot his own.
Houllier admits to some responsibility for the problems the Senegal pair have had.
He said: 'Diao and Diouf came straight after the World Cup. Maybe it was my fault because I should have taken into consideration the fact that they'd also played an African Nations Cup as well in February.
'It's just like asking Michael Owen and Steven Gerrard to have played the European Championships in February, taking a month of their energy and all the extra games and getting right to the final - like Senegal did in the African tournament and then in June playing the World Cup.
'Everybody here would have gone berserk at such a workload and asked `what's going on here.' Maybe I didn't pay much attention to the fact that they could well have been a bit tired.'
But he added: 'I'm very pleased with Diouf. He's 22, has skill and has come to terms with our game towards the end of the season. I'm sure he'll be better next season.
'He can bring some spark to a game. Diao is different. We took him because we weren't sure of Steven Gerrard's injury problems and whether Dietmar Hamann would be fit all the time after the World Cup.
'He was initially going to stay in France on loan but we took him early right at the beginning of the season rather than when we'd planned to half way.
'In fairness to him, he has done well when he has got into the side.'
Cheyrou has been the biggest disappointment, looking fragile and lost at times in the tough tackling midfield zone.
Houllier said: 'Regarding Bruno Cheyrou, he is a very skilful, talented player and he came into the team at the right time but he got injured and it took six weeks to come back.
'But once he did recover and returned to the squad, he showed the quality. Once he understands the physical side of the game here, with the skill he has, he will be a tremendous asset for next season.
'He only seemed to be good in the last couple of months, you could see it in training.
'I was talking to one very high profile Premiership manager, not a Frenchman, and he told me that it takes more than one season to discover how demanding the game is here, but when they have the skill they will eventually produce something special.'
Houllier - French kids are gems
Liverpool will wait to see whether Le Havre retain their top flight status in France before deciding when to bring young starlets Anthony Le Tallec and Florent-Sinama Pongolle to Anfield. Both youngsters are due on Merseyside before the start of next season but manager Gerard Houllier has hinted their stay in France could be extended if they have another season in Le Championnat to look forward to.
Le Havre currently lie second from bottom in the top French league with just two games left to play this season. Le Tallec and Pongolle both signed Anfield deals in 2001 but it was agreed they would continue picking up first team experience with Le Havre before making the full time move to Liverpool.
Houllier told Liverpoolfc.tv: "When they come here depends on whether or not their club stays in the Premier League in France. If Le Havre stay up then we may leave them there for another six months, we'll see. In an ideal world I would like them to come over here as soon as possible because it takes time to settle in this country. You can see that with Milan Baros. It took him time to learn the language and to get used to the game. They may need six months or a year to play in the reserves and to get used to our football before they are ready for the first team. They are two gems, I can tell you that, but remember they are still only 18."

Babbel out of favour ...
Boss - Babbel no longer in my plans
Markus Babbel is unlikely to play in Liverpool's first team again, according to manager Gerard Houllier. The German defender has failed to re-establish himself in Houllier's plans since recovering from illness and now appears to be in the Anfield wilderness after the boss accused him of demonstrating a poor attitude over recent weeks.
Babbel has been sent off twice for the reserves over recent weeks and has been fined two weeks wages for his dismissal in the mini-derby earlier this month. He was also guilty of a public show of dissent when he was substituted during Liverpool's Worthington Cup tie at Aston Villa earlier in the season.
"I doubt he will play for us again because I gave him many chances and it hasn't worked out," said Houllier. "It doesn't look as though his attitude is the best at the moment. He is frustrated and he has been sent off twice for the reserves recently. The staff have been disappointed with Markus' attitude towards the club and the fans.
"It is not only the outburst during the Worthington Cup, but he has been sent off twice in the reserves. I took no action after the first incident but I will fine him two weeks' wages for the incident last week, which was unacceptable. He is no longer in my plans. When you have talent there is no question you are capable of doing well for your club, but the motivation has to be there too. The attitude has to be right and in this case it has not been right. I think the club has been very fair to Markus. We stood by him and handed him a new contract. I'm very disappointed with him."

Roux hoping to keep duo
Auxerre manager Guy Roux is hoping to fend off Liverpool's reported interest in Djibril Cisse and Jean-Alain Boumsong. Gerard Houllier has confirmed he will be meeting with Auxerre officials towards the end of this month, when the availability of Cisse and Boumsong are likely to be high on the agenda.
But Roux doesn't seem ready to let two of his star players leave the club just yet. He said: "There are some contracts that are running and have to be respected, this is not the right time to talk about transfers. "It is true that every time a season ends it is not unusual to see Auxerre players linked with moves abroad, it's happened before. This is the case for Cisse and Boumsong, as well as Kapo and Mexes." Cisse's current contract doesn't end until 2007 while Boumsong is contracted to the club until next year.

On this day - 15 May 1982...
21 years ago today another championship presentation unfolded at Anfield after a thrilling 3-1 victory over Tottenham.
Nothing remarkable in that you may think, such scenes had become increasingly familiar during the previous decade, but when you consider the Reds had been in 12th position at Christmas this was one of Liverpool's most remarkable title triumphs.
An amazing turnaround in fortunes saw Bob Paisley's men go on an impressive unbeaten run and the season boiled down to a dramatic climax on the final Saturday of the season, with a win required over Spurs to clinch the league crown.
A capacity crowd packed Anfield and, despite a spectacular first half strike from Glen Hoddle, an exhilarating second 45 minutes saw goals from Lawrenson, Dalglish and Whelan wrap up the club's 12th championship in style.
For Manager of the Year Bob Paisley his fifth title as boss was a moment of sweet satisfaction. "I am proudest of this one because there was so much to do. I said back in January that I hadn't seen a better team than us on our day, and that we could still do something if we put it together. A lot of people were shouting at us to bring in new players. Any idiot can do that. It's a matter of bringing them in at the right time and place so they fit in, and aren't murdered."

Smicer hoping Reds land Duff
Vladimir Smicer today admitted he hopes Liverpool manage to bring Damien Duff to Anfield next season. Liverpool's Czech star admits he will face an even bigger battle to find a place in Gerard Houllier's team if Duff arrives, but he says the Reds need to play better football next season and that the Blackburn star is just the kind of player they require.
He said: "It would be good for the club to get Damien Duff. That's the kind of player we need. The manager is looking for new players and that's right, but I don't know what that will mean for me. I really want to stay at Liverpool but we'll have to wait and see what the manager decides.
"We have to play better football next season. There are no excuses. We didn't do as well as we expected and we must all accept the responsibility as a team. We set targets for ourselves to win the Premiership and do well in the Champions League. To finish so many points behind Manchester United means no-one can say it has been a good season. We should have done a lot better and we must take the blame. Everybody has to play their part next year."
Smicer accepts he failed to perform to his best this season and he admits he has been as frustrated as the fans with his performances. "When I had a bad game I took stick from the fans and they were right. I deserved the criticism," he said. "I played some bad games. There were times when I was so disappointed with myself and for the suppor ter s because I knew I could play better. What was frustrating for me was I kept getting injured playing for my country. It happened three times. I thought I ended the previous year well and started this season in good form. I felt really sharp after the summer.
"Then I broke my toe and missed two months. I never felt the same. There were good moments for me, like against Basle and Charlton, but I was unhappy with myself in other games. I thought my best games where in a more central position, but it's hard for the manager because since I've been at Liverpool every midfield player has wanted to play in the centre. I understand that. For the Czech team I play behind one striker or two. Every player wants to start games, that's natural and I'm no different. But I also accept the view that sometimes I've been better when I've come on a substitute, such as against Charlton. We'll just have to wait and see what happens but I hope I'm still here at the start of next season."

Assalamualaikum ..
Gerard Houllier has been warned he faces a fight with one of his oldest friends in football if he wants to sign France striker Djibril Cisse.
Houllier is planning talks with Auxerre about Cisse and central defender Jean-Alain Boumsong.
But Auxerre manager Guy Roux has threatened to quit if the French club sell Cisse - and warned Liverpool that the duo are both under contract.
Boumsong's contract expires next summer and Cisse, the top scorer in the French league last season, looks less likely to move to Anfield this summer.
'I don't want him to leave, and I would have to consider my own position if he does,' Roux told the Mirror.
'This is not the right time to be talking about transfers. There are contracts running, and they have to be respected.
'I have heard the talk about Cisse - and Boumsong and Mexes - but they are contracted to this club, and I don't want them to leave.
'Cisse has a contract until 2007, and it has to be respected.
'I know Gerard well, but that alters nothing.
'It is not unusual for Auxerre players to be linked with moves abroad - it happens at the end of every season - but my feelings are clear.'
Houllier: Vignal will be useful for us next season
Gerard Houllier is backing Gregory Vignal to force his way into the first team frame at Anfield next season following an impressive loan spell in France. The 21-year old French full-back has been on loan at Bastia for the majority of this campaign and the Liverpool boss is looking forward to his return in the summer.
"I will be going to France to watch Gregory play before the end of the season. He has been doing very well and the experience has been good for him." says Houllier. "I think he will be a very useful player for us next season. He had a difficult time earlier in the season because he was injured and needed to build his fitness. He will return to us a stronger player."
Since signing for the Reds in 1999 Vignal has made just 20 senior appearances but was beginning to establish himself when a broken foot ruled him out of action for most of the 2001/02 season. A strong and confident left-back, he'll be hoping to push for a first team recall when he resumes pre-season training at Melwood in July.

Artikel dan beberapa penjelasan mengenai isu Markus Babbel.
The Chris Bascombe column: Markus Babbel
WITHIN the job description of every manager is a paragraph about 'taking criticism when things go wrong'. Gerard Houllier knows all about that this season. He'd expect it and my view is a lot of the observations have been fair. The boss' reflections on the season revealed as much. Some of the stick he's taking, however, borders on the hysterical and farcical.
Take the reaction to this week's clarification on the position of Markus Babbel, an interview first printed by my newspaper on Wednesday. For months I and just about every other reporter covering Liverpool has been asked, or ordered, or demanded, by fans to reveal 'what the hell's happened to Babbel?'
It was also one of the most popular issues on the Liverpoolfc.tv readers' questionnaire for the boss and one of the reasons matters came to a head this week. Week on week, month on month, the Liverpool manager kept silent, even though he was clearly frustrated a world-class player wasn't doing enough to deserve a recall.
"Tell us the truth!" yelled the critics. In fact, Houllier was giving
Babbel every chance to make amends. He could have taken the player to task for his show of dissent at Villa Park. Remember the moment Babbel threw off his Liverpool jersey in public? What would happen if Emile Heskey did that? The crucifixion would have been immediate.
I was at that game in Birmingham. I was disgusted by Babbel's behaviour. He deserved to be subbed because Darius Vassell was ripping him to shreds. Unlike his defender, Houllier kept his emotions 'in-house' despite provocation. Then the manager could have reacted after the incident when Babbel was sent off for stamping on a Sheffield Wednesday reserve player in a show of staggering indiscipline. He didn't.
Reserve team regulars will tell you how poor Babbel - one of the highest paid Liverpool players - has been. A shadow of the player of three years ago. Finally, Babbel headbutted a teenager against Everton reserves last week. Again, Houllier didn't make any immediate comment.
Until this week he'd kept quiet on the situation. Then, prompted by my interview and the questions posed by readers of this website, he talked. All the manager did was respond to interrogation. I asked him to explain what was going on. I desperately wanted him to go public. I did so because I felt the Liverpool fans, those who pay the players' wages, deserved to know if Babbel was in his plans. I also knew it was an excellent story which would get the supporters' talking and get my name on the back page. No apology. It's my job.
Houllier didn't 'blast' Babbel. Indeed, those who've watched the player in action this season might conclude he could have been a lot stronger in his comments. The explanation for Babbel's absence is his attitude. That's it. Of course, when the cat was let out of the bag this week, it's the manager who gets blamed for 'going public'.
Had I written the story without any quotes, no doubt his accusers would have attacked Houllier for not being brave enough to reveal everything himself. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. The rank hypocrisy of those criticising the manager on this issue beggars belief. Everyone wanted to know. The manager responded. If you don't like the answers, don't ask the reporters' to ask the questions.
Like everyone else, I felt very sorry for Markus when he was ill. But just because he's recovered doesn't mean he should be immune from the standards of everyone else. Indeed, if his bravery means it's somehow vulgar to chastise him, why does the Liverpool manager have to put up with so many vicious character assassinations? Did Houllier not put his life on his line to help the club? Sorry to be melodramatic, but he did.
Like his close friend Sander Westerveld, Babbel had nothing but support from Houllier when he needed it most. He's just reached the end of the line. He hasn't repaid the faith shown in him. He was in a wheelchair when Rick Parry asked him to sign a lucrative new contract. Some doubted he could play again when Liverpool gave him the insurance of three more years wages.
Are we so naive to think Houllier did this was because the club wanted to play him the reserves for three seasons? The argument is ludicrous. Houllier wanted a fit, totally focused Babbel in his first team. He hasn't had it. And if Markus is arrogant enough to think he deserved a recall ahead of Jamie Carragher, tough.
I'd have Carragher every week. Not necessarily because he's a more naturally gifted player. No, because Carragher cares 100 per cent every day, every second, every week in every game, no matter what level. If Houllier had dropped Carra to bring Babbel back on the basis of reputation alone, it would have been a sad day for Liverpool FC.
Babbel served Liverpool magnificently in the treble year. He was extremely brave to save his career after a terrible illness and he was treated in a honourable way by his manager. But he has let the fans, the club and the manager down this season because he hasn't deserved selection. He has deprived the team of a world-class player.
Indeed, the biggest test of his professed love of Liverpool is yet to come. He could sit tight for two years and swallow vast amounts of money despite knowing he probably won't play. Would that be a fitting way to repay the fans who worshipped him? Preventing the club replacing him? Don't make a martyr out of Markus Babbel. His halo has slipped.

Heggem's tribute to Chairman Moores
Departing Norwegian defender Vegard Heggem has paid tribute to Liverpool chairman David Moores and explained why everyone at this club should be proud of him. With his Liverpool contract soon to expire Heggem is currently back in his native Norway where he's mulling over his future options.
Despite his Anfield career being plagued by injuries he admits he has 'loads of good memories' from his time with the Reds and takes with him fond recollections of the chairman. "As a player, I have always been really proud of having a chairman like him. I think all the people involved with the club and all the fans should be proud of David Moores," Heggem told icons.com.
"His love for the club, for the players, for the staff and for the fans is so heartfelt. I know this because he travels with us for so many away games and for so many big occasions. Just from the look in his eyes you can tell how much he loves this club, and how much it means to him when it is successful.
"The chairman doesn't want the success for himself. Nor does he use the club to get himself into the limelight or into the newspapers. If anything, it's the opposite. He is happy to stay in the background. He just wants the club to do well for everyone involved.
"The chairman is one of the richest men in Europe. You don't know what to expect when you first meet someone like that, but David Moores is genuinely a nice guy. He has made a big impression on me and I am really grateful to have played for the club during his time as chairman."

Reds capture Irish midfield ace
Liverpool have beaten off stiff competition to secure the services of one of Irish football's hottest prospects. John Paul Kelly, a 16-year old Republic of Ireland youth international will begin a full-time scholarship at the Academy in July after agreeing to make the move from Dublin based Lourdes Celtic.
Regarded as 'a competent central midfield player' by the FA of Ireland, Arsenal and Leeds were among a host of Premiership clubs reportedly chasing his signature. Liverpool under-17s coach Dave Shannon describes Kelly's style as similar to that of former Red Davey Thompson and he's looking forward to his imminent arrival.
He told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Next season we are looking at bringing eleven or twelve new scholars in, which is obviously very good. Most of the under-16's that've figured this season will be here and we've got one boy coming over from Ireland, John Paul Kelly, who we call Joxer. "He's a central midfield player and has been over to train with us a few times. He's a very infectious type of player, similar to Davey Thompson. He'll be a big asset to the team."

Young duo may stay in France
Gerard Houllier's decision to sign proven quality rather than potential could delay the arrival of two talented French youngsters.
With Houllier planning a £12m summer swoop for Auxerre's French international striker Djibril Cisse, he may well decide to allow starlets Anthony Le Tallec and Florent-Sinama Pongolle to stay on loan with Le Havre.
The pair are considered two of the finest teenage prospects in Europe, and Liverpool invested £6m in the pair last summer before loaning them back to Le Havre to gain experience.
Liverpool could now wait to see whether Le Havre retain their top-flight status in France before deciding when to bring them to England.
Both youngsters were due on Merseyside this summer to start their Liverpool careers, but Houllier is concerned they will take six months to acclimatise to the English game and has hinted their stay in France could be extended if they have another season in Le Championnat to look forward to.
Le Havre currently lie second from bottom in the table, with just two games left to play this season.
"When they come here depends on whether or not their club stays in the Premier League in France,'' said Houllier."If Le Havre stay up, then we may leave them there for another six months, we'll see.
"In an ideal world I would like them to come over here as soon as possible because it takes time to settle in this country."You can see that with Milan Baros. It took him time to learn the language and to get used to the game.''
He added: "They may need six months or a year to play in the reserves and to get used to our football before they are ready for the first team."They are two gems, I can tell you that, but remember they are still only 18."
Trio will prove their worth - Houllier
http://www.teamtalk.com/Images/13020.jpg
Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier has backed El Hadji Diouf, Bruno Cheyrou and Salif Diao to shine next term after a disappointing first season.
The Anfield chief has seen last summer's expensive signings become the focus of continued criticism as they have all struggled to settle into Premiership football.
The trio cost a total of £18m last summer and it was hoped they would push Liverpool into genuine title contenders. However, all three, to differing levels, have struggled to make their mark in their first season in England.
But they will all be given another chance next season to prove their worth, and Houllier insisted: "Diao and Diouf came straight after the World Cup. Maybe it was my fault because I should have taken into consideration the fact that they'd also played an African Nations Cup as well in February.
"It's just like asking Michael Owen and Steven Gerrard to have played the European Championships in February, taking a month of their energy and all the extra games and getting right to the final - like Senegal did in the African tournament and then in June playing the World Cup.
"Maybe I didn't pay much attention to the fact that they could well have been a bit tired."But he added: "I'm very pleased with Diouf. He's 22, has skill and has come to terms with our game towards the end of the season. I'm sure he'll be better next season.
"He can bring some spark to a game. Diao is different. We took him because we weren't sure of Steven Gerrard's injury problems and whether Dietmar Hamann would be fit all the time after the World Cup.
"He was initially going to stay in France on loan but we took him early right at the beginning of the season rather than when we'd planned to half way."In fairness to him, he has done well when he has got into the side."
Cheyrou has been the biggest disappointment, looking fragile and lost at times in the tough tackling midfield zone.Houllier said: "Regarding Bruno Cheyrou, he is a very skilful, talented player and he came into the team at the right time but he got injured and it took six weeks to come back.
"But once he did recover and returned to the squad, he showed the quality. Once he understands the physical side of the game here, with the skill he has, he will be a tremendous asset for next season."
Auxerre boss keen to keep star duo
http://www.teamtalk.com/Images/8316.jpg
Auxerre coach Guy Roux insists he is wants to keep Djibril Cisse and Jean-Alain Boumsong after Liverpool revealed an interest in the duo.
The duo have both been earmarked as potential summer signings by Reds boss Gerard Houllier, who is keen to bolster his ranks after a disappointing season which saw the club miss out on Champions League qualification.
Houllier, a close friend of Roux, has revealed he is planning a meeting with the Auxerre boss at the end of the month about striker Cisse and defender Boumsong.
Cisse, 21, grabbed the Liverpool manager's attention last season but insisted on his desire to remain with the French side to gain more experience. He is linked to the club until June 2007.
Boumsong's talent meanwhile broke out this campaign thanks to his successful pairing in central defence with Philippe Mexes. The young stopper is contracted with Auxerre until June 2004.
Both men have also become regulars with the France national team in the past few months - but Roux does not seem ready to let them go.The Auxerre boss explained: "There are some contracts that are running and have to be respected, this is not the right time to talk about transfers.
"It is true that every time a season ends it is not unusual to see Auxerre players linked with moves abroad, it's happened before."This is the case for Cisse and Boumsong, as well as Kapo [France striker Olivier] and Mexes [France defender Philippe].''
Beattie in, Heskey out ??.. tul ker nie??
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JAMES BEATTIE is a £12million Liverpool target.
Kop boss Gerard Houllier has put the Southampton star at the top of his summer shopping list as he continues his desperate search for a striker.
And Beattie's arrival would mean the end of Emile Heskey's Anfield career.
Houllier is due to have talks later this month with Auxerre for their £10m-rated hitman Djibril Cisse.
But Liverpool now fear that deal may not happen and also believe Beattie could be a better attacking partner for Michael Owen.
Beattie, 25, is also wanted by Newcastle.
Aku tak rasa Houllier minat dengan Beattie. Liverpool tengah carik penyerang baru jadi akhbar saja je nak kaitkan Beattie dengan Liverpool ni ...
Setakat ni GH hanya cakap dia nak Cisse dan Duff. Yang lain spekulasi.
Ako rasa elok sangat kalo Boss sign Duff & Cisse. Lepas tu jual players high reputation mcm Diomede, Biskut, Babbel + lain..
hmm.. aku dah naik bosan ngan transfer rumours nie.. x abih² nak beli.. kalu nak beli, beli jer lah.. liverpool brapa banyak dia nak borong nie??.. man utd biasanya bising lebih.. tp beli sorang jer.. hampeh!!..
aku rasa tahun lps x bising sgt psl nie.. maybe pasal world cup kot??
oit delete.. biskut tue saper??
Liverpool memang suka borong pasal kita orang tak banyak duit macam MU tapi sejak Boss amik alih ni 2-3 ketul jer yang success... MU lain ar duit banyak tapi kedekut, SAF selalu rembat player² yang Boss usha. Burin tul ako tengok dia, padan muka takde superstar yang "betul²" nak main ngan MU. Muahahhahaha
BTW : biskut adalah Igor Biscan. <----- Ako cukup menyampah ngan dia ni tak macam CM pasal ako buleh jual dia kat Real @ Bayern @ Roma mahal oooo +15 juta pound beb . Muhehehhee
Biscan memang produk gagal CM. Yang lain seme terer dalam CM dan terer dalam dunia sebenar. Biscan sorang je tak ...
Berger closer to exit
http://www.teamtalk.com/Images/13332.jpg
Patrik Berger's free transfer away from Liverpool is almost complete, with either Leeds or Portsmouth expected to be his destination.
The Czech international is out of contract this summer and has been told he will not be offered a new deal at Anfield.
Berger met Leeds officials earlier this week before returning to the Czech Republic to mull over his decision. Berger's agent in his homeland, Pavel Paska, says a number of Premiership clubs have enquired about the 29-year-old but it is believed Leeds are favourites.
Pompey boss Harry Redknapp is among those hoping to sign Berger but Paska said: "We're waiting for final negotiations with bosses of a Premiership club, but we've agreed we won't say which one yet."
Leeds boss Peter Reid is keen to bolster a midfield that was often United's weak link last season and is also keen on Sunderland's Gavin McCann but faces competition from Aston Villa.

Reds ace Carragher handed call-up by England
http://www.teamtalk.com/Images/11024.jpg
Jamie Carragher has been called into the England squad for the final two matches of the summer against Serbia and Montenegro and Slovakia.
The Liverpool defender will join up with the squad in La Manga on Sunday for a five-day training camp.
It is the first time that Carragher, the England Under-21s' most capped player, has been involved with the senior squad for 13 months.
His last appearance for Sven Goran Eriksson was as a substitute for the friendly international with Paraguay on his home Anfield ground in April 2002.
Injury problems denied him any chance of making the World Cup squad, although he was only an outsider to be named in the final 23 and has not been picked by Eriksson this season.
Carragher, who plays predominantly at right or left-back for his club, is not a straight swap for any injured player.
But England have had only 19 players to choose from for the friendly international with South Africa in Durban after John Terry pulled out with a thigh injury.
Spokesman Adrian Bevington told the FA's official website: "Jamie Carragher will join up with the England party in La Manga on Sunday for the remainder of their summer schedule."
It is still hoped that Chelsea star Terry will be fit enough to be part of the La Manga plans ahead of the friendly with Serbia and Montenegro on 3 June at Leicester and the Euro qualifier with Slovakia at The Riverside Stadium eight days later.
Transfer target 'fed up' with huge price tag
Liverpool transfer target Damien Duff admits he can't envisage leaving Blackburn because of the huge price tag the Ewood Park club has put on his head.
Rovers boss Graeme Souness has reportedly valued the Irish winger at ?0 million and Duff believes it's a figure that will deter potential buyers.
He says: "I am getting fed up with it all now, there's a ridiculous price on my head. Even if I wanted to leave Blackburn, I won't be because of the ridiculous price. I wouldn't want to say what the price is but I know there's a ridiculous one there. It's stupid, even if I wanted to go nobody will pay it.
"It's all about money at the end of the day with the directors and, as I said, it's out of my hands. With the way the game has gone, I don't think somebody will pay that sort of money, let alone for Damien Duff. We'll still be talking about this in five years' time and I will still be a Blackburn player."

Much has been made of Gerard Houllier's 5-year-plan at Anfield recently and in an exclusive interview with lfc.tv, the Liverpool boss insists his team are slightly ahead of schedule.
In an exclusive interview with the manager in which he faced questions from supporters from all over the world, Gerard was asked: You have always claimed you are in a five year plan at Liverpool. What is the measure by which the five years can be judged a success or failure?
"My team started in 1999 because the team before was not really mine and that is when we started reconstructing and rebuilding a new team," Gerard responded. "Since then we have competed in four UEFA competitions, including two seasons in the Champions League. We have won six trophies and one of those was a major one in the UEFA Cup. That is always difficult to win because we had a tough run against Olympiakos, Porto, Barcelona and Roma. Winning a European trophy is not easy. Apart from Manchester United, over the last ten years we're the only English club to have won a European competition.
So in four years we have won six trophies and we've played in the Champions League twice so we are slightly ahead of schedule. Now we need to have a further push because we have created expectations for the fans and we have to respond to that."

Parry proud website remains world's most popular
LFC CEO Rick Parry insists he's proud of the fact that the club's official website remians the most visited football club website in the world. Liverpoolfc.tv, launched in April 2001, is still the most popular football club website and currently one of the ten most visited sports sites in the world. As well as out-performing websites from the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munch and Germany, liverpoolfc.tv has already this month been used by fans from a staggering 139 different countries.
"We're very proud of that," claims Rick of the club's thriving website. "As a club we like to be the best at everything we do. That is the philosophy on the pitch where we're driven by trophies and it applies to everything we do off the pitch.
"When we created .tv we wanted to create a profitable venture, although we did know it would be several years before it became truly profitable and lucrative, but our first aspiration was to create something of real quality. We're extremely proud of what we've achieved and very excited by it."
Proving beyond doubt that LFC reaches countries most other clubs can only dream about, liverpoolfc.tv has been visited this month by fans from no fewer than 139 nations. Everyone knows Liverpool are popular in Ireland, Norway and the Far East but were you aware that passionate fans from Brazil, Syria, Kazakhstan, Peru and Rwanda are regular visitors to the club's official website? Rising star signs new deal
Promising defender Jon Otsemobor has been rewarded for his progress and signed a new deal with Liverpool, that is expected to keep him at the club until 2005. Liverpool born Academy graduate Otsemobor, 20, can play either right back or centre half. He made his first team debut in the 2002-2003 season in the Worthington Cup match with Southampton at Anfield. Otsemobor impressed in a right back role but then dropped out of the first team picture and spent the rest of the season on loan at Third Division Hull City.
'Semmy' as he known at the club joined the club's Academy as a schoolboy and moved from the Academy to Melwood during the summer of 2001. A former England youth international, he was given squad number 36 last season having been a regular member of the Reds reserve team for the past three seasons. Hull manager Peter Taylor, who managed England for one match against Italy, actually wanted to keep Otsemobor at Hull but is still pleased for the player.
Taylor said: "We always knew there was a good chance Liverpool would re-sign Jon because I know they think very highly of him. But they have and that's the end of the story for us. Jon is delighted with what's happened. "He's looking to establish himself in the Premiership and you can't blame him for that. I hope he goes all the way. He's certainly got the ability."
Otsemobor is the second recent Academy graduate to sign a new deal following striker Neil Mellor's three-year contract he signed in January. Other Academy starlets training with the first team at Melwood include left back Stephen Warnock and midfielder Michael Foley-Sheridan who both have another year remaining to try and impress and earn new contracts.

News yang dah basi.
Liverpool will make a final decision next week on whether to visit the Far East this summer.
The trip to China and Hong Kong has been planned for nearly 18 months but has been thrown into doubt because of the outbreak of the killer Sars virus.
Liverpool are scheduled to tour Shanghai and Hong Kong in July as part of their pre-season build-up also aimed at helping the club tap into the lucrative Far East merchandise market.
A travel ban for those wishing to visit the region was lifted a fortnight ago, but may have come too late to rescue the trip and it may now be put back until next summer.
Alternative plans to visit Malaysia or South Africa have already been drawn up by chief executive Rick Parry, manager Gerard Houllier and the board of directors.

An announcement was expected last week, but club officials have taken extra time to gather advice from medical and travel experts.

Pre season friendly game for LFC
Newly-promoted Bundesliga club Cologne have confirmed they will face Liverpool in a pre-season friendly in July.
Cologne will host Gerard Houllier's side at the RheinEnergie Stadion in an evening match on 16 July as they prepare to return to Germany's elite after competing in the 2. Bundesliga.
The RheinEnergie Stadion is being redeveloped to host games in the 2006 World Cup and the new north stand should be completed in time for the visit of the Reds.
Liverpool are also set to play Crewe on 19 July and Aberdeen on 5 August.
Gerrard: My mate Rooney is special
Steven Gerrard has spoken out about how he's taken Everton youngster Wayne Rooney under his wing and insists his new mate is one of the best players around.
The pair clashed at Anfield when Rooney got involved in the aftermath of Gerrard's slightly late challenge on Gary Naysmith but rather than letting the bad blood continue, the Liverpool midfielder went out of his way to welcome the Everton striker into the England camp.
"There is ability and then there is Rooney," insists Gerrard. "His talent is frightening. He's not as good as people think, he's better. Everton are extremely lucky to have him and they should do everything in their power to make sure they keep hold of him. I'd seen bits and pieces on him and heard other people talk about him. But I tend to judge as I find. In the week leading up to the Turkey game, I thought England have got a jewel here. When you think he's only 17 and Michael Owen is 23, it bodes well for England's future.
"We first met, there was a bit of aggro during the Merseyside derby and he got involved. But Rooney is a scouser like me and we have been brought up in similar back-grounds and I'm not into holding grudges. So I got very close to him when we met up with England squad prior to the Turkey game. I wouldn't say I went out of my way, it was more a natural thing because he's a local boy. If I ignored him, and that's not really me, who was going to break the ice? I wanted to make sure he didn't feel lost and in his room on his own. I wanted to make sure he felt comfortable and got out.
"So I just went up to his room, gave it a knock and swapped a few DVDs and CDs with him. I sat and had a few meals with him, played computer games and watched some films. I guess I just got to know him really.
Apa lagi Stevie, ko racun ar dia masuk Liverpool sbelom Owen kena jual kat Barca @ Inter @ Roma @ River Plate. Heheheehhe
"I have always felt that the better you get on with people off the pitch, the better you get on with them on it. He's a nice kid and we get on like a house on fire and now we speak at least two or three times a week on the phone.
"I know what it's like coming into the England camp when you're young, it's really difficult. You don't really know anybody and you walk around with a vacant expression on your face. You're in awe of some of the players. He's special though, the best around. He's got it all at at such a young age."

Liverpool agree Cisse deal - claims <----- Gossip yang blom disahkan so jangan terlalu exited sangat.......
Liverpool are to call a press conference later this week to announce the signing of Djibril Cisse claim reports today.
If reports are true, Liverpool have finally agreed a deal to bring the highly rated Auxerre striker to Anfield in time for the new campaign.
Paul Smith of The Sunday Mirror explains: "Last Sunday evening Cisse, accompanied by his adviser and an Auxerre official, arrived at about 6pm by private jet at Liverpool's John Lennon International Airport.
"They were taken to a secure part of the airport where a people carrier with blacked-out windows took them to Houllier's penthouse flat, where they were met by the manager and Liverpool's chief executive Rick Parry.
"The decision to hold a meeting lasting an hour and 30 minutes at the flat to discuss Cisse's personal terms was deliberate.
"Houllier felt if they went to Anfield Cisse or any of the Liverpool party would be spotted and the media would report the sighting.
"At around 8pm Houllier, Parry, Cisse and his entourage emerged from the flat where two blacked-out cars were waiting to take them to the club's Melwood training complex.
"They arrived under the cover of darkness and spent an hour looking over the facilities.
"At around 9.30pm Cisse's party dispersed, staying at a local hotel overnight.
"Parry left to go to his Merseyside home but, to complete the bizarre picture, Cisse left with Houllier and stayed at his flat before being sneaked off the following morning to return to France by private jet."

Spurs linked with £3million Liverpool bid
According to reports in the Sunday press today, Tottenham boss Glenn Hoddle is to make a £3million bid for Liverpool striker Emile Heskey this week.
KopTalk understands that Spurs showed much more interest in Heskey earlier in the season but due to the number of other candidates currently available, the London club are going to test the water with several clubs to see if they can secure a bargain.
There's no way that Liverpool would entertain a bid of £3million for Heskey and rightly so.
